I AM “ONLY” A PENSIONER

Why Would You Say…”I am Only a Pensioner”

Is it because you receive just enough money to put food on the table, have a roof over your head and if you’re lucky, buy a couple of gifts for the grandkids at Christmas…? I understand and realise why you think that way. You simply BELIEVE  you can’t afford anything but the basics. It is true to an extent, because when  you are supported by the government, they give you just sufficient to survive, which is still better than nothing at all..

Alleviate your status Quo

But by always saying “I am only a pensioner” you are telling the universe you are poor and putting yourself down in the process. This is not very positive. Don’t accept this as a matter of fact without ever actually looking into possibilities to alleviate your situation.

A Number of Ways

Yet, there are plenty of ways to make a difference to your financial status. And I don’t mean to take a shovel and start digging ditches for the council or trying to find a job from 9 till 5 either. No, nothing even close to that. What I mean, is to begin investigating the possibilities of working from home with your computer. OK, you don’t have a computer. In that case, you might have to look into getting one. A second-hand one will easily do the job , you don’t need the latest model. For just a few hundred dollars, maybe on eBay or the local paper, I am certain you’ll be able to find one, and you’ll be ready to go.

The Next Thing..

The next thing I hear you say is “But I don’t have any computer skills”. Well, even that can easily be taken care of. Most councils, community centres or Senior clubs and many other organisations will teach you the basics for absolutely no cost. So here again, you have to enquire, investigate or research those things. Remember, you always have to do something to be able to get something, you would agree with that statement, wouldn’t you?

A Very Important Word..

I haven’t mentioned the most, most important thing yet. And that is……You would have to Want to change your situation desperately. Otherwise, there is no way in the world that you will be able to transform your life..! It will take discipline and focus. So ask yourself the question – How Badly Do I Really WANT It?

Here follows a list of possibilities:
FaceBook Market Place.
You could list your products or your creations or even services for sale and gain access to a local audience.
And it cost you absolutely nothing. Say, you love knitting, crochetting or macrame.  You could create items for babies/toddlers/or adults. You could make plant holders doing macrame, or interesting wall hangers as interior decoration. The sky is the limit, really.
People simply love handmade items, especially the Millennials. There is something beautiful and individual about it compared with stuff you buy in a shop or department store, which is all mass produced.

You could Teach people how to knit/crochet/ or do macrame. And it’s not just females, there are many males that love to knit too. Note: It was afterall invented by sailors, during their very long sea journeys. Males and/or females could make wooden toys. Just imagine making such items to sell?  People would love it.
Once you’re happy with your creation, list it for sale on FB Market Place.
And see what happens..!

About the author

Tina Blauw

I am a 85-year-old lady who started blogging to get my message out to as many women as possible. My main reason for writing is to make you as a women, of sixty and beyond, realise that you probably have another (40) years of living ahead of you. What are you going to do with those years? Some years ago I coined a phrase: “Always be Curious About Life…that Way You’ll Stay Right in It..!” My wish is to impart that into you. I live on the Gold Coast, Australia with my lovely husband. We moved here from Melbourne a couple of years ago to be closer to our daughter and her partner, our 2 grown up grandchildren and their partners and our 4 small great-grandchildren with #5 on the way :)
